Terms of use

The rules for using Schema Forge and its API: acceptable use, limits, your content and the markup it generates, and how to ask for permission.

At a glance

Short answer

You may use the site and its API to check and generate markup for pages you own or have permission to check, within the limits below. Everything else about the site, including its code, design and text, is reserved.

Using the site and the API

You may use the generator, the site scan and the JSON API for lawful purposes, at the rates described on the API page. You must not try to avoid those limits, overload the service, or use it to attack or probe other sites.

Pages you submit

Only submit addresses of pages and sites that you own or have permission to check. The service fetches the pages you name, identifies itself as SchemaForge, and does not store them. You are responsible for having the right to check what you submit.

Markup the tool generates

You keep all rights in your own pages. You may use the markup generated from them on those pages without asking, and you should check it against what visitors can see before publishing. Markup is generated from the page's own content and is provided as a starting point, not as advice.

The site itself

All rights in the site, including its code, design, text, images and logos, are reserved. Nothing here may be copied, modified or distributed without written permission, beyond what these terms expressly allow. Viewing the site in a browser does not grant any right to reuse it.

Page alerts

Alerts are a convenience. Delivery depends on your browser and its push service, so a notification can be late or missed, and you should not rely on alerts for anything critical. Only watch pages you own or may check. Alerts can be limited or stopped at any time.

No warranty

The service is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. Search engines decide what to show, and no markup guarantees a rich result. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss arising from your use of the service or the markup it produces.

The service, its limits and these terms may change, and access may be limited or withdrawn at any time, for example to stop abuse.

Asking for permission or help

To ask for permission, report a problem or raise a question, contact the operator of this site in writing.
